How to organise mega cheap trip to Palma de Mallorca?

Summer is almost over and I already miss the sun, so I found a great deal to extend my sun exposition.

I came across ‘winter sun’ flight sale from Monarch, which lasts till 22/09/2016, so hurry up if you are looking for some cheap flights to a sunny destination this autumn or winter 🙂 At the time of booking 2 weeks ago, my total price per person was £48 when checking today the very same flight cost £65 per person so still not that bad and you can always alter the hours so you still get a flight for £54:-)

Originally we were supposed to go to Palma but having read that there are amazing places in various places on the island I decided to rent a car so we re off to explore :

  • Palma
  • a small village –Valldemossa (F. Chopin and G. Sand stayed here),
  • Serra de Tramuntana World Heritage Site
  • and the best beaches on the island located between Port de Pollenca and Can Picafort.

I then booked a car using not the cheapest at first sight but probably the ‘safest’ car hire company I came across on autoeurope.co.uk –> Hiper Car Rental. When you do the booking ensure you get a referral from cash back site. At the moment TopCashBack offers 7.35% cashback on Auto Europe bookings. So we saved £3.05 🙂 you can save a bit more if you book via https://www.holidayautos.co.uk as their cashback is 8.35% at the moment and the car I was after is for £39.92 so for about £36 after cashback 🙂

I chose them as they had loads of positive reviews unlike the cheapest car rental companies,  they also did not have any hidden extras costs or insurance fees on top of the booking price. And finally, their fuel policy was fair as it was full to full which saves you money if you do not travel loads.

Then I signed up for a new Airbnb account with a referral link to get £25 for a booking of £55 or more and booked us our first night in Palma for £42 after the discount.

Then I booked the last 2 nights using Holiday Pirates for hotel ideas and prices. It looks like the 4 start hotel I wanted to go to Hotel & Spa Ferrer Janeiro was the cheapest on Hotels.com but I am a big fan of Expedia, so I had to check the price of it there and luckily it was the same. So having checked and knowing that Expedia’s hotel booking cashback is 12.6% vs 8.4% on Hotels.com bookings.

Which is £104 once we deduct the cashback I am going to get for this purchase.

That would be it, for now, 4 day’s break cost us £140 per person, so much cheaper than getting package holidays even when we add on top of that the cost of getting to and from the airport and the fuel we will use up when discovering Mallorca. All in all, it will be cheaper so I am really happy with the above-found money-saving deals and really looking forward to my little break now.

You may be able to find some good package holiday deals at  http://www.dealchecker.co.uk  but one is sure if you want to see more than one place and enjoy the beaches and mountains of Mallorca my plan comes rather cheap saving you money on some of the nicest accommodation, however you can always find some cheaper places to rent a car or book a hotel and maximise on saving money when getting cashbacks or welcome credits:-) so happy looking for your perfect holiday deals.

I will update the post once we are back from the break and have found out some more deals this time locally when in Palma de Mallorca.
