Kitchen Gadgets I can’t live without
Crockpot 5.6Litre Express Pressure and Slow Cooker -is a pressure cooking pot my husband originally got for my parents but sadly my mum didn’t appreciate that gift, so the pot returned to our home. I am unsure why she didn’t like it as it saves me a tonne of time as I can cook vegetable soups in just 5 minutes…It looks like preparing the veggies for the soup takes twice so long ;-). Furthermore, CrookPot is super useful when you have a big family dinner, and let’s say you need a few kgs of potatoes boiled quickly. Also cooking black rice is much quicker when using CrockPot. You can also cook other dishes in the pot although I am yet to try that. All in all it’s a very useful kitchen gadget saving loads of time.
I love this little mighty kitchen gadget. Our NutriBullet PRO 900W one has been with us for 5 years and I can’t imagine life without this small gadget. From smoothies to flour making and most recently coffee beans grinding…So versatile. I love the fact that since I am trying to be more gluten-free it allows me to get almond or oat flour just in seconds…
I also like to make any base or creams for my vegan cakes (soaked cashews are beautifully mixed in it).
All in all, NutriBullet does the job of a blender (although for blending soups is much easier to use a hand blender ), mixer or a proper kitchen robot except it’s smaller and probably much easier to clean since the parts with blades are totally flexible. Whenever I can I prefer to use my NutriBullet not my Emperial kitchen blender I got from Amazon…Nothing wrong with the last one NutriBullet is just a gadget that is more powerful, easier to put together, and clean.
I got one from ALiExpress as one of my friends did get his there so it encouraged me to use that site. I got iLIFE 7 and I must say it’s not as sophisticated as the more expensive ones but it does a good job for the £118 spent on it. It always finds dust on our floors and even washes them..
I have recently got a better one for my mother-in-law. Her model cost me £269.99 – £130 so £139.99 after the discounts and she loves it. I was lucky to use the £80 discount listed on its Amazon page plus a code discounting it further (extra £50) I found on LatestDeals.co.uk so all in all I got it half price and so far my mother-in-law loves the little hover.
Health & Beauty gadgets I can’t live without
Garmin vivomove HR
Remember my last year’s post about fitness trackers worth buying? I couldn’t decide then which one to get but finally opted for Garmin vivoactive HR. I didn’t get it during Black Friday but a bit later as my Vitality discount secured me a 40% discount, so much much better than any discount seen on Amazon or elsewhere at teatime.
Why I love my Garmin tracker?
- it tracks my fitness activity from stems to anything else and sends that info to Vitality (that earns me points for rewards)
- It tracks my sleep, so I can see howling and how well I slept-
- It tracts my stress, so if I am under a lot of pressure I know I need to actively look to unwind later on.
Philips Sonic Toothbrush
I was an Oral-B fan but then my late father researched sonic toothbrushes and asked me to get Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 Electric Toothbrush. Since then we got one for ourselves we never went back to Oral-B. It’s an amazing toothbrush for someone who has sensitive teeth and delicate gums (sadly me). After a few days fusing it whitening made,’ I also noticed my teething a bit brighter and I did not change toothpaste or didn’t do anything else apart from using this toothbrush… It’s my fav dental gadget and together with a tooth mousse, I can enjoy better teeth. Last year I paid for it 106 EUR.Now its for £125 on Amazon unless you got for a pink one as that one is at £96.50.
Lumie SAD lamp
I had a very difficult 2019 and sadly 2020 wasn’t easy either..with that I struggle with good mood keeping. Especially now when winter is around the corner. My husband got a SAD lamp for me and it does wonders. He went for a big one almost the same used in SAD light therapy places.
Truth be told we have Phillips Lumie alarm clock which imitates sunrise/sunset so it’s nice to wake up to it and then to to-up on the light from the SAD lamp and feel instantly much, much better throughout the day.
Why I love this health gadget?
- it provides bright light & lifts my mood, enhances concentration and boosts my energy levels
- its fast treatment for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) – usually 30 minutes is enough
- 3 x warm white bulbs = 10,000 lux at 35 cm with channeling the light design
- Medical Device (Class IIa) used at a professional light therapy + 3-year warranty
Currently the very same lamp is for about £150 on Amazon.
Lumie Hair Removal device
I love this small home beautifying device. You have to use it regularly to achieve the best results but if you do you will get there. I got mine during Black Friday 2015 for £239.99 as it was heavily discounted during that event ( I think the RRPwas around £400), so if you don’t need one ASAP wait till then as it may save you a fair bit of money. I see now many hair removal gadgets are reducedby about 30%.
Check out this Black Friday deals if you are after any cool gadgets.
